Each issue of the "Affirmations For The Mind" Newsletter will offer a selection of affirmations.

2.TIP: After repeating your affirmation, go out into the world and prove that what you have been affirming is actually true.

For example, if you were affirming "I am a loving and caring person". Go find a way to be loving and caring, prove it to yourself. Then say to your self. See "My affirmation is! TRUE", it is happening now.

Imagine, how you can prove your affirmation to be true. Use you imagination and see yourself acting out your affirmation, then go and try in out for real.

Even if you do just a little of what you are affirming, your unconscious is going to have a hard time disproving it.

Have you ever come home after a long day at work or a day of hectic activity, plonked yourself down into your favorite chair, kicked off your shoes & sighed in great relief that you are home. Home where it is safe and comfortable. You can be at peace here, away from the stress and turmoil of the outside world. It is in this safe space that you can relax and enjoy peace and quiet. Many of us also daydream of beautiful restful places to have a holiday and get away from it all.

Meditation is your spirits way of going home, of finding that quiet restful safe space where we can relax, and recharge. It is in the quiet space between thoughts that our mind, our body and our spirit are rejuvenated. It is in this space that we connect with God and where most of the physical and emotional healing occurs.

Aha, I hear you say, I don't meditate, so how can my body be receiving any healing. You might be quite surprised to hear that you actually achieve the same mental state as meditation many times a day without even knowing it. When we sleep, daydream or just mentally wander off into la la land where you lose track of where you were that your brain drops out of Beta brain wave into Alpha, Theta or Delta brain wave activity. The brain actually slows down & momentary conscious lapses occur. It is here where the brain takes a little getaway break.

Remember the last time you were driving along and suddenly found yourself many kilometers down the road from where you thought you were. Your brain has had a little getaway break. It has dropped into lower brain wave and put you into autopilot. This happens many times a day.

When we meditate we consciously take our brain wave into the lower states of Alpha, Theta or Delta. It is in these states that we achieve great relaxation, release of stress and tension as well as rejuvenation of the self. 10 - 15 minutes of meditation can be equal in rejuvenation power to many hours of sleep.

It is also in these lower brain wave states that we connect with God, the universal mind, our inner self and guides. It is here that inspiration and intuition are at their highest. It is in the quiet moments that we hear our inner voice of our own knowing. We can connect wit a higher power to help us with problem solving or higher learning.

Meditation has great potential for healing physical illnesses within the body as it allows a more focused time within the healing state. During this time the body also releases amazingly powerful hormones, endorphins and healing chemicals into the system. The pleasurable sensations felt during meditation due to the endorphin releases can be very intoxicating and are often more powerful and feel better than any drug, alcohol or substance that we may take to temporarily relieve us of our emotional states.

Emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, stresses and fear can be greatly reduced due to the calming peaceful states received during meditation.

In short meditating can be the ultimate "Getaway". We can go home, where it is safe, warm and free from stress, pain and turmoil. It is a state of perfection. You can get the ultimate feel good. It is free and you can get it anywhere, anytime without any ill side effects.

You can even have that ultimate holiday in your mind. Anything can be achieved by focusing thought and then letting the mind flow into unlimited pleasurable places.
